Morning in Banff National Park

What an incredible adventure it has been to spend the past three days in Banff National Park camping, taking pictures and touring with my family!8613_Banff National Park-Alberta-Canada_Canon EOS 40D, 17 mm, 0.5 sec at f - 22, ISO 100

About the picture: In the mornings, my brother Jonathan and I would get up before dawn and drive out to a potential photo op close to our campsite. This morning, we went to Bow Lake. It was very important to find a spot where the mountains were facing east and the sun was rising to our backs. This might seem odd, but with the sky being so clear and the mountains so tall around us, there wasn’t much to speak of in terms of beauty in the sunrise. It was fascinating to watch the light slowly spread down the mountain slopes, setting the peaks aglow with a rosy red hew at 7:30am before slowly engulfing the entire mountain in golden light by 8:30am.
