I’ve never seen such vastness and variety. In preparation for future CAPTURE workshops in Alaska, I’ve been traveling around with my exceedingly hospitable and educational tour guides, the Robert’s family, looking for the best spots to visit during the workshops. Because this time of year is the rainy season, we started our scouting excursions in a hurry to take advantage of the fair weather that God gave us this weekend. Saturday was spent driving up to one of the most famous spots in the world, Denali National Park, home of Mount McKinley and some of the most photogenic landscapes in North America. Ever since I began learning photography, visiting this park had always been a dream of mine. I’m still having a hard time believe that dream has now been realized.

I jumped out of the car to photograph the tracks. The train
just happened to come through at exactly the same time!.

At 20,320 feet, Mount McKinley stands as the highest peak in North America. It’s height causes it to glow in sunlight much longer than the surrounding mountains.

This was the first of three bull moose we saw in a matter of just a few hours.
