The CAPTURE NC Team

So here’s a pictorial summary from last week’s CAPTURE North Carolina workshop! We prayed often on our way to our shooting locations for sunrise and sunset that it would stop raining and not once did it hinder us from taking pictures. On the contrary, the cloudy conditions created for the extra drama of cloud formations and mist during sunrise and sunset and diffused lighting during midday hours.

Andrew Jackson State Park

The first morning we forced ourselves to use strictly Manual shooting mode as we enjoyed the sunrise over a small lake in Andrew Jackson State Park.

Duggars Creek

In the afternoon, we drove out to the mountains to learn how to shoot flowing water on Duggars Creek in Linville Falls State Park.

Linn Cove Viaduct

For our second morning, we explored the Blue Ridge Parkway just outside of Linville and shot the Linn Cove Viaduct under the shadow of Grandfather Mountain.

Wiseman’s View

Sunset brought us to Wiseman’s View, a dramatic overlook down a treacherous 4 mile gravel road in one of the most rugged areas of the North Carolina highlands.

Linville Falls

The final morning God blessed us with an incredibly colorful sunrise and golden sunlight over Linville Falls as we put into practice the many composition techniques that we had learned during the week.

Thank you again for bringing CAPTURE to NC! I had such a wonderful time being in the beautiful mountains with our amazing group, and the class was very educational and insightful for me. I can’t wait to start applying what I learned to my future photography!

I was wondering if you have in the past or would be willing to give gear recommendation?
