I have 7 pieces of high-end, pre-owned photography equipment that I’d like to sell. I bought it as bundle from a friend of mine, Ryan, who was moving on to "phone photography" and now I'm selling off each piece individually.
Before listing them on Ebay or making them available to anyone else, I wanted to make sure that you guys (those of you who follow the Lenspiration blog and forums) had the choice to buy it first.
Here’s the equipment and the pros and cons that I know of for each piece:
1. Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens
$1400 $990.00
This is the original version, not II or III. There is visible wear on this lens and lens hood. Ryan said he probably used it the most of all his equipment. This is one of the best wedding photography lenses.
2. Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens
$100 $90
This is version II, not STM. There is no visible wear on this lens. It appears as though it is brand new.
3. Canon Speedlite 320EX Flash
$130 $90
It appears as though it is brand new.
4. Canon EOS 60D Camera
$350 $290
Body only. There is visible wear on the body like little dents and scratches. It is very clean. Battery, battery charger, cords and neck strap are all included. Ryan, the previous owner said that if his estimates are correct, the shutter actuation should be right at 20,132. 🙂 It would be safer to estimate more like 21,000. Canon gives the shutter durability rating at 100,000.
5. Manfrotto MT190CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod
$350 $290
It’s missing a screw on one of the legs. It has almost no visible wear.
Personal note: I will never regret purchasing a carbon fiber tripod vs an aluminum or plastic one….the Manfrotto PRO3 I bought in 2011 (I stand corrected to what I said in the video) is still what I use for a tripod 100% of the time.

6. Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Lens
$750 $490
This is the lens I have been using for landscape photography since 2014. I bought it Refurbished. The rubber seal that makes this lens weather resistant is slightly notched in various places so I try to keep it as dry as possible when I’m using it like I would any other non-weather resistant lens.
7. Tamrac 5788 Evolution 8 Backpack
$50
This camera bag is not sold anywhere anymore. I own one just like it, only brown. I use it mainly for long day hikes. You can fit a lot of equipment in it, plus extra stuff like water bottle, jacket and snacks. I usually used it to transport my gear to a location, then took it off to take pictures at the destination. The waist strap is slightly too big for me. The shoulder padding isn’t anything special, but I usually bear the weight on my hips anyway with the waist strap. I usually sling one of the three legs of my compacted tripod through the waist strap while hiking to keep my hands free. The top pocket is an odd shape so the zipper snags. This could potentially lead to bigger problems later (ie. the stitching coming out).
