I thought a recent Q&A Forum topic was pretty interesting….
@bennett-family asked, “I was cleaning out my camera bag the other day and came across this little thing in a small plastic bag, and I have no clue what it is! Can anyone identify it?”
I observed that it was probably something that would attach to a cord. Brilliant.
And actually, my first thought was perhaps it was a little mechanical device that would help keep this from happening…..
I seriously had no idea what it was. And I’m still not sure if I actually do, despite the impressive attempt made by an intelligent new holder of an amateur radio license (ie.@loganlamar) to explain it in laymen’s terms @buddingphotographer’s geeky reply.
Evidently, they call it a ferrite choke. And you can read what it actually is here, What is this?
“Of making many books there is no end.”
Well said.
Always something new to be learned every day!
