Two observations.
First, notice how the shot was improved when the focus was emphasized on the one element in the picture that would be considered as the subject (what was physically in focus). The bright highlight areas (that attract attention) were cropped out, the background was made darker, the color was saturated, and the vignette made the center portion of the image appear brighter.
Second, notice the clever adjustment by @thefarmhand: a decrease in Vibrance while increasing the Saturation slider. Just adding more color doesn’t always make a picture look more colorful. The sliders in editing programs like Lightroom work together and it’s worth experimenting with different combinations to see how they can get the picture closer to how you like it.
