Composition is one of those things that is very difficult to explain and thus requires time to develop. Some even argue that composition can’t be taught, and must simply be developed through personal observation and practice! I don’t go to that extreme, but it certainly is a fun challenge to try to express in words what factors of a composition do or do not work.
