You’re still in “M” mode, aren’t you?
Also, make sure that the flash is firmly pushed onto the camera’s hotshoe, and tightened down. I used to have trouble with the flash not firing sometimes, till I discovered that I wasn’t getting it onto the hotshoe tightly enough.
Lastly, make sure your shutter speed is set the camera’s max x-sync speed of 1/200 or less.
