Living in northern MN has its advantages. We get to watch Canada’s fireworks on the 1st, and US’s on the 4th. =) At the Canadian ones, I was shooting across a river so there was opportunity for reflection. But there was a bit of wind so the water was not calm. As for the photography. I would advise a shutter speed of at least five seconds more ideally ten. Keep your ISO low and stop down a bit to keep every thing in focus. And always take the opportunity to take a shot or two of the surroundings even when there are no fireworks. Here are a few pictures. The panorama was taken after the show was done. The other was taken with these settings.
