You’ve done well at capturing the colors of the sunset! To make a good sunset photo, generally speaking you need either a light enough foreground with an interesting subject or a dark foreground with interesting silhouettes. Your foreground is mostly just dark space and the tree silhouettes are not quite strong enough to be real compelling to me. Maybe you could have gotten closer to the trees or zoomed in and found some interesting shapes that would have been more predominant than what you have here. I feel that the second picture is lacking in that there is too much of the sky that is not interesting and with nothing but darkness in the foreground there is simply not enough of anything in the photo to hold my attention. In the first photo the beauty of the sunset and the shapes of the clouds are interesting and fill the upper part of the frame nicely. Even though the tree silhouette shapes are not real predominant, they are there and I think this photo has the potential to be used with a scripture verse or other text on the dark foreground or perhaps as a panorama such as the crop that I have attached. Keep up the good work! There are few things that inspire a landscape photographer more than a colorful sky!
