I won’t say what I actually do as your warranty doesn’t cover water damage, even on weather sealed gear. Ever.
You can cover your gear with a garbage bag, cutting holes in the appropriate places. There are a bazillion models of these things.
On a side note, make sure your lens has a clear/vu filter on it. Lenses advertised as “weather-sealed” aren’t without a filter.
