Thanks @joshua_ong and @sarahanne for you comments! After everyone’s suggestions, I can see that the second image is a lot stronger – not perfect by any means, but better! Yes, I think the fence does create a good leading line. Funny – at the fore front of my mind was “Get a good leading line!” And the image that turned best was just more of a last minute “I’m leaving the beach you should turn around and take a picture” type shot. And I spent more time trying to compose the other image. It’s funny how that turns out sometimes! 🙂
I’ve never been to Perth, @joshua_ong, but I bet you do get some beautiful sunsets! Great for photo opportunities.
