Aww that rose is pretty, and the dew enhances the photo so much!
In this picture there’s just a tad bit cut off on the outside petal, I think I would try to make sure that either the entire rose is in the picture, or get closer in if possible and artisically get only part of it. It just has to look purposeful either way!
The wider the aperture, the more the background is blurred, which looks great with close-ups of flowers. So, I would use the widest aperture as possible. Also, I’d use the lowest ISO possible for optimal photo quality.
I know what you mean with getting stuck in a rut with taking the same types of pictures! Try different perspectives, looking up at the flower from below, from different sides, at different focal lengths, etc. Try various times of day…. for example, I think this flower would be simply gorgeous during golden hour, especially if you were able to capture light beams in the picture.
