@rmadaris, That is a decent laptop with a fair amount of memory and great hard drive- you’ll certainly want that if you are shooting raw. I think the Cpu is a little weak though. I would recommend a I5 proccessor if you can afford it, but you probably won’t find one for under 400. I bought a older refurbished laptop with an i5, 8 gb ram, and a 250gb ssd for 300. It is fast enough, but the hard drive is really too small for storing many pictures. If you are handy with computers, you could upgrade the hard drive inexpensively yourself, but it can be tricky. Just curious, is there any reason you don’t get a desktop? you at least have better data storage options. I have a older workstation that I use for most of my editing, and it has a internal RAID controller that allows you to plug in 3 hard drives at once. One is a 500 gb ssd that I store all my system files on for speed, and then a 4 tb hard drive for pictures. There is also a external 8tb backup drive. When my 4tb fills up, i can just add another hard drive- I am thinking a 8 or 12 tb. But that will be a while!
