Yeah, I don’t like to shoot over 100 or 200 when I’m in the outdoors. In this situation, I probably would have grabbed my tripod (or laid the camera on the grass or on my camera bag).
When it comes to exposure, I will shoot as bright as I possibly can without washing out any of the sky. The foreground will often look very very dark, but it usually brightens ok in post-processing if I’m using ISO 100 (or 50, like my camera lets me).
