Wow, that’s the kind of question that I like to sleuth for. 🙂
For starters, here’s a thread that might shed some light on the subject: https://photo.stackexchange.com/questions/50180/high-speed-sync-flash-with-430ex-ii-off-camera. That thread gives a couple of options:
- (Expensive) PocketWizards
- Cheap Chinese triggers that advertise HSS compatibility
- E-TTL extension cords.
Another solution I’ve seen is to buy a cheap (used?) Canon 90EX flash to use as a wireless master. This forum post indicates specifically that “the Speedlite 90EX itself cannot fire with high-speed sync, but as a master unit, it can signal compatible slave units to do so.”
