You know how much I love colorful, sunset landscape images. Seeing you had some interesting foreground stuff to work with, I wonder how much you could have integrated it into your composition. I haven’t had the opportunity to visit lakes with ice-breakup so I do not personally have any good examples, but what came to mind was some images I’d seen by Ian Plant. I wonder if you could have found some interesting foreground subjects to include like are in this article, Wonders of Iceland: Jokulsarlon.
