Hi fellow photographers! Happy Fall πππ (or Spring π)! Like James said earlier, I just LOVE autumn photos and all the other fun things that this season brings with it! Here where I live in the Midwest US, the leaves are indeed starting to turn colors and we just had our first frost last night.
Although I’m not able to participate in every single monthly assignment here, one of the things I really love about these assignments and forums here is to be so inspired by everyone else’s amazing shots, ideas, compositions, and sharing their solutions for overcoming their own unique challenges! Some of the things I would never have thought of, like Lydia’s idea on taping a leaf to glass… And it’s so fun to see all the different colors and textures of something as simple as the wooden backgrounds behind a lot of these. Reminds me of the Interesting Textures assignment two months ago.
Like @pistol-pete, I had to use fake leaves as well that I borrowed from my sisters’ Fall decorations. π And although I would have much preferred more “natural’ light, I had to shoot mine indoors since I was doing it in the evening after work. One of my biggest challenges was getting the leaves to stay flat after I had arranged them the way I wanted them. Overall, though, I do like the way it ultimately turned out! I used Photoshop to adjust the saturation and exposure just a little, and I submitted two slightly different photos of the same composition — one cropped to a square, and the other cropped slightly vertical, per the specified orientation.
Really enjoyed this assignment! π
Blessings to y’all!
