Welcome to the forums, @samuelwest! Does your Macbook come with the “Photos” app? That might be the first thing to try. For other ideas, check out this post on the forums about editing software for Macs and this one about editing artwork.
Other editing software that is often recommended here on the forums includes:
- GIMP (free, but clunky to use)
- RawTherapee (free, with a bit of a learning curve)
- Darktable (free)
- Affinity Photo (one-time payment; on SALE right now!)
- Adobe Lightroom (subscription based)
A quick search online shows that Luminar and Pixelmator Pro are popular (paid) photo editors for Macs.
I have Affinity Photo, but I never use it for editing photos, since I bought Lightroom several years ago and never looked back.
Perhaps @loganlamar can chime in if he’s learned of any new ones recently. 🙂 I don’t use a Mac myself, so hopefully others here who do can chime in and help you out.
