Hmm. Hard choice! A B&W image has to be ultra awesome for me to like it; I’ve always preferred color over B&W. But your subjects here lend themselves to a more artistic expression, so that’s why I really do like the B&W processing.
However, when I really have to make a decision, the color image still wins over for me because of the suburb blue/yellow color contrast. The warm glow in the wood and soft texture of the moon reflecting in the water complement each other splendidly. And then the little yellow starbursts in the background fit right in, drawing the entire scene together. That’s my opinion at least.
Was this shot taken on the scenic route into Williamsburg? How did you get the wood to be front-lit when the main light source, the moon, is behind it?
