Those are some nice shots there, @timtam. And thanks for explaining the settings and procedures you use for taking firework pictures. I hadn’t used the the hat method, but it sounds like a good work-around if I ever forget my external release. 🙂
The first two shots you posted I would definitely cool them down. Much to warm. I like how in the last picture there is one main firework with several smaller ones around it.
I wish I had been able to get some good shots of fireworks over the 4th of July. I was teaching a photography class that day and didn’t get to the local firework show until after it was almost over. Was in such a rush to get there, I didn’t even have my tripod! But I got one or two shots I liked by laying the camera on the ground. Guess I’ll have to wait till next year!
