“Created for a purpose”
by: Joanna Potter
One afternoon, I was outside enjoying a warm, sunny March day, when I spotted this little guy. He was hard at work pollinating my Mom’s blueberry blossoms. I had never gotten any great pictures of insects before, so I decided to try it again. Using my Mom’s phone I tried to focus on the bee. It was hard because he never stayed in one place long. Trying not to bother him too much, so as not to get stung, I snapped pictures as he buzzed from one bud to the next. It was really cool, because as I was focusing in for another photo, he stuck his head into the blueberry bud. On another shot it was really neat to see that he had even posed perfectly for me, sticking his proboscis out. Watching this little bee hard at work was not only the perfect chance to get some interesting photos, but it reminded me of an important lesson. As Christians, we need to stay focused on God’s purpose for us in life (like this bee, pollinating), ignoring distractions (like me the intruding photographer!). Never miss a chance to marvel at God’s amazing creation!
