“Rainy Day Walk”
by: Joanna Potter
It was a cool, cloudy day, and it had beed drizzling or raining almost everyday for a week. My siblings and I were itching to go outside. The drizzling had stopped, so I took the chance to slip outside for a few minutes. Before leaving the house, my Mom had given me permission to take her phone to see if I could get some good photos. We have a wooded area behind our house, so I decided to head back there. On my way, I noticed all the little water droplets on the grass blades. Thinking it would make a neat shot, I snapped a picture. Once I reached the woods, there were so many neat things to take pictures of! The dripping leaves were my first goal, they made perfect images to shoot. Dressed in bright spring green, with lots of water all over, they made for a cheerful picture. Heading down one of the trails, I kept a lookout for anything that might make a good rain shot. Ducking under a wet branch, I spotted several spider webs. With dozens of water droplets decorating their surface, they made for some unique shots. Continuing on I snapped more shots of wet leaves and branches. As I circled back around to the house, I caught sight of a snail inching his way up a branch. I took a few pictures before I found some more snails nosing their way through the wet surroundings. While I was taking a few last shots, it began to drizzle again. Decided to close my photo shoot in the woods, I hurried back to the house hoping not to get myself and the phone too wet!
