March-A Month of Variety
If I had to sum up our month of March into just a few words, I think that I would say “bees, bugs (and insects,) birds and buds.” The woods are starting to turn the many shades of the tree blossoms and tiny wild flowers are popping up everywhere. Cheerful birds, thrilled that the weather is warming up, can be heard singing from early morning to late at night.
“Busy as a bee” is an appropriate phrase for what can be observed of our pollinators as they get that job done while they collect their nectar before the blooms fade. Though, you just might find more bees than you expected if you happen upon a swarm. It is quite a sight to watch 1-1½ gallon of bees hanging from each other in an evergreen tree.
Although, bugs and insects are not necessarily a favorite part of spring, they usually start making their appearance in March. There is much variation between them in size, shape, color and even behavior. March is definitly a month full of the variety of God’s Creation!
