Wow! You caught it in midair! What shutter speed were you using? Were you shooting in manual or was the camera choosing the exposure for you? How far away were you from the feeder, and do you know what amount of zoom you were using?
If you are able to zoom in more, you can get more “creamy” backgrounds that might help set the humming bird off from the background better? That’s what I did in the attached photo. Or maybe find an angle where there’s only blue sky behind the bird?
