@JamesStaddon, I like that crop! It definitely brings the focus onto the mushroom more, which is a good thing!
I don’t really know what the MFD is for that lens, so I set up a little test with one of my new African bookmrks! I propped it up against my Bible, lit it with my pocket flashlight, and measured the distance! It looks to be about 14-16 inches from the front of the lens…
And just for fun, here’s the image you get, taken with the above setup.
That lens is just tack sharp! This was taken wide open at f/2! Here’s a 100% crop of that image.
