And this is the church I wanted to enter…
Calapooia, Oregon church
This church was built in 1906 as a Southern Episcopal Methodist Church (118 years ago), and was bought by the Free Methodist church in 1932 for $100. The picture is from 1954. It served until 1965, when a new church was constructed. It was bought by a neighborhood family, who has restored it and uses it as a wedding venue. It looks much the same today as it did in 1954.
My father served as pastor of this church twice – in the 1950’s (BMT – before my time), and for 9 years from the early 1960’s to early 1970’s. It was my “home church” growing up. No A/C. No bathrooms. Outhouses out back, and people were welcome to use the parsonage’s bathroom.
