Yes, a higher aperture would have been good, and I would have lowered the ISO speed to 200 or so. It looks to me like you could have used some more light in your picture, maybe overexpose by a stop or so. It’s much better to need to darken a little in post-processing, than to try to brighten dark shadows taken at ISO 800!
The picture would greatly benefit from a foreground subject. I’m not one to preach about composition, (That’s my weakest point I’m afraid), but it would definitely make a better picture to have an element of interest in the foreground as well. Hopefully @JamesStaddon can help you out on that score.
