Dear Mr. Staddon,
My name is David Ong and I am the brother of Joshua Ong who was on the Image Editing Forum. I have enclosed a picture of a Dutch iris and I am asking for any comments on that picture. This picture was taken in the afternoon and I wanted to take a close-up picture of this flower. The specifications of the picture and camera used are as follows:
Camera: MiCam (this is a waterproof camera)
F-stop no.: f/2.8
Exposure time: 1/500 sec.
ISO speed: ISO 400
Focal length: 3mm
Dimensions: 4608 x 3456 pixelsThank you in advance for evaluating the picture.
Kind Regards,
David OngSeptember 20, 2015 at 8:31 am #13649Joshua OngParticipantThe jpeg file of the picture was too big to be uploaded. I’ve enclosed a Powerpoint presentation of the same picture.

I suggest you just resize your original .jpg picture, and upload it again. If you need help with resizing, here’s a thread that might help: https://www.lenspiration.com/forums/topic/resize-and-compression-tools-for-photographers/

September 22, 2015 at 10:05 am #13677James StaddonKeymasterWhat vibrant color! It really has an artistic flavor, the combined colors of purple and green, and the way it’s composed.
I would have re-positioned myself to exclude the sidewalk in the top left corner. Also, if possible, it would be nice if the background was more blurry. You’re using a great aperture for this, but you should be able to increase the blur by stepping back and zooming in to get the same composition.
Also, in the future, to bypass the upload error, just upload pictures that are less than 2MB in size. Let us know if the article @buddingphotographer mentioned helps solve the problem!
