ParticipantHey, I’m really bad at lighting and I don’t use any lights, reflectors, or anything but my camera for lighting so I struggle. Does anyone happen to know of any lighting courses?

Participant@tashavk Yes indeed!! I actually just got one called “Shooting & Editing” by Amy & Jordan Demos, and the first module is allll about light, and it was SO good. Presented in a very engaging way, too, not all technical-y and hard to understand. 🙂 You can tell they are very passionate about it and love light. It was very simple, practical, and easy to understand, and it WORKS!! 😀 Having taken two of Amy & Jordan Demos’ courses now, I cannot recommend them enough. They are spectacular.
You can get $200 off (so it’ll be $397) if you buy the course during one of their webinars which they run all day long all the time. 😀 (Their webinars also are VERY helpful and full of great information… and free!) That is what I would recommend! 🙂

ParticipantAnother really good book for understanding the basics of lighting is “Light: Science and Magic: An Introduction to Photographic Lighting“. You do have to watch out which version you get, as some versions do have some immodesty. The version I know is decent is the third edition (bright red), which I linked to on Amazon.com

KeymasterI’d like to talk about this tomorrow on the webinar, @tashavk. If you’d like to join us, maybe we can discuss it after critiquing the assignment photos. https://www.lenspiration.com/product/photo-coaching-64/
