I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13
Wow, I just have to say, I’m VERY impressed, everyone.
It appears as though a reply that I intended to post on June 22 didn’t get posted for some reason, so just wanted to say thank you @jace, @blessingscaptured, @okiephotos, @freedomphotography, @allienelson, and @ernestf-lloyd for making the special effort to find, photograph, or pull from your…[Read more]
One of the things I find hard when photographing paths, is that if you get down too low, then you can’t see where the path leads too or the curve. If that makes any sense.
Ah good point. That does make sense. You’re right, and it does really depend on the path, and on the surroundings!
Congratulations, @creative-click-photography! Praise the Lord about your lens there, too. 🤦♂️
I agree with @bennett-family…I deliver the high res, edited JPGs (only, I export at a quality setting of 90, because that decreases the amount of hard drive space it takes up without reducing any visible quality, at least, as far as I can tell).
So glad to hear that the shoot went well, @creative-click-photography! Sounds like quite the scary moment there with your lens though!
What size should I export the photos to give to the couple?
I’d suggest you give them full size photos. Currently, when I export my photos in Lightroom to deliver to a client, I do not resize the photos down, I…[Read more]
Yay! It’s so great you had the opportunity to scout out the engagement shoot location ahead of time, @creative-click-photography!
I think one thing that could make this look less like a snapshot is the perspective. As you know, when most people grab out their phone and snap a picture, they tend to do so from head or chest level, and that’s w…[Read more]
I am really sorry, @creative-click-photography, I really don’t have any new tips for you without diving into a lot of research. 🙁 I just don’t have much experience with engagement photoshoots! I’m going to send this question to a friend of mine, though, who does do a lot of engagement photography but isn’t here on the forums, so hope to post her…[Read more]

Hi @creative-click-photography! What a great question! It deserves more than just a quick reply or even a short discussion on a webinar. It’s something you’ll definitely want to work through and have a plan for.
I’ll bring it up on the webinar tonight (https://www.lenspiration.com/webinar/photo-critique-53/), give my thoughts, and then we can go…[Read more]
I actually ended up ordering only 3 designs. The way it was working out with the quantity to order for each design, I was going to end up with A LOT of notecards, and thought it would be better to have to…[Read more]
That’s a beautiful picture, @creative-click-photography. Typical Aussie sunset with cloudless skies (unless it’s winter). I love taking photos of sunsets, and yours reminds me of the sunsets at Fremantle Beach here in Western Australia.
Hey guys! I am working on getting started with Lightstock, too. @creative-click-photography or anyone who remembers, how long did it take for you to hear back from Lightstock? I asked for a invitation about two weeks ago and haven’t heard back yet. 🙂
Do you try to time your upload of photos ahead of upcoming seasons
I’ve often wondered if it makes a difference too. Last year I did specific shoots for Thanksgiving, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. I uploaded them a bit prior to the actually days, but didn’t find that I sold that many. But then this year, I sold some of those…[Read more]
Hello! @creative-click-photography ,I was thinking about getting one of theses. Some of the reviews said that the 55mm cap didn’t work to well on it. (One of my lenses is a 55mm) Do you have a 55mm lens? Does it work on it?
Thanks a lot!
@creative-click-photography, though my perspective a non-experiential when it comes to Lightstock, it seems to me photos taken on a shoot specifically for stock would sell better than just random photos from every-day shooting. I would make special efforts to conduct specific shoots for stock, and then, like @blessings-captured does, incorporate…[Read more]
Do you try to time your upload of photos ahead of upcoming seasons (like, uploading Christmas photos in October rather than December or January), or do you just upload them whenever you’ve shot them?
People do start buying Christmas in October, etc; so it would be advantageous to have photos early, but for me it’s not always practical. W…[Read more]
Hi @momparfitt, sorry for not getting back with you on this earlier!
When it comes to size, the best quality for printing will be if the photos are at least 3600px wide.
Unless you want the watermark printed in the calendar, I would not submit photos with a watermark. For the winner of the assignment, I can add text to give credit in a way…[Read more]
I’m glad you brought this up, Caitlin! I had actually thought of asking this myself. I haven’t really sold a whole lot on Lightstock, and was also curious to hear what you and @blessingscaptured (and anyone else who sells on stock sites) have found to sell well.
That looks like a nice, peaceful sunset there, Caitlin! You certainly did a great job at hiding the fact that the beach was crowded with tourists! 🙂
My main thought compositionally is that the walkway on the pier essentially merges with the horizon, so it may have been nice to position yourself so that was a little…[Read more]
Hey @creative-click-photography! Thanks a lot for the input, and I can definitely see what you’re saying about the compositions in the different photos. The next misty morning chance I get I’ll try shooting for even more excellence!!
I accidentally deleted the first picture while I was looking at it 🙄 , so here it is the original picture and then…[Read more]
Hi @creative-click-photography, I’m sorry I overlooked critiquing these photos!
Flat lay. That’s a great name for it. Didn’t know it even had a name!
About arranging items, I don’t have much experience, but I like how the items are intentionally placed. Maybe it would be better if they were not cropped off at all? The cropped image cropping most…[Read more]
Caitlin, your many years of hard work, study and practice in photography technique are indeed paying off
…and are inspiring as well! 🙂
@jamesstaddon, looks like in the photo credit at the bottom of the page, they incorrectly spelled Caitlin’s name with a y instead of an i. 🙂
