Christmas lights and candles do produce a really neat feeling, don’t they! But boy, shooting in the dark is tough. My favorite photo of the 5 that came through is the 3rd one down. The cluster of candles has a really nice shape. And I like the refection in the window and the fact that you can see just a bit of the…Read more

Hi @robo062003, can you create a smaller version of your photo and try sharing that? It appears your original version is too large (over 8MB in size).

@robo062003, great job getting out there and practicing! If you’re working on learning how to focus well, I’d encourage you to work mostly with stationery subjects for starters. Compose your photo so there is an obvious subject, and focus on that. Once you’re more comfortable with that, branch more into moving subjects and complex compositions.…Read more

Gorgeous flower, @robo062003! Welcome to the forums! So sharp. Love it! Do you have the ability to do photo editing? If so, I’d brighten it up a bit (either in-camera or in your software), and then decrease highlights a bit. That might make it look a little more colorful. Can’t wait to see more of your work as you become a better and better photographer!

Welcome to Lenspiration, @robo062003! This is a beautiful flower and the background blur is great. No mistaking the subject here! I probably would have composed it a little differently, maybe with the center of the flower on the left third of the photo giving a bit more breathing room on the right side of the photo, but I can definitely see why it…Read more
