SUMMARY:McCormick's Creek Field Day
DESCRIPTION:An educational field trip for those who love taking photos!\nFrustrated with how your pictures are turning out? Can’t get your camera to do what you want it to do? Maybe there’s a special effect you’ve seen other photographers do\, but you can’t seem to quite figure out how to do it yourself? Do you know about Manual mode\, but the thought of actually using it scares you?! You’re not alone! \nEvery photographer has faced these situations at one point or another . . . and thankfully\, they can all be resolved! You can have complete control of your camera. You can start taking better pictures.\nAnd it’s not as hard as you might think! You don’t need an expensive camera. You don’t need tons of knowledge. Just start with a few key principles and an understanding of the equipment that you have . . . and you can start taking pictures like a pro! \nWith plenty of time to practice\, practice\, practice under the guidance of a professional photographer\, a Photography Field Day is a fun\, hands-on workshop for learning specific photography techniques in the classroom of creation. Photographers of all experience levels are welcome. Bring your camera\, and be prepared to learn: \n\nHow to make beautiful\, blurry backgrounds\nHow to create the pro sunstar effect\nHow to photograph the soft\, silky water effect\nHow to make your pictures tack sharp every time\nHow to start shooting in Manual right now\nHow photographers can make a positive impact on the world\n\nThere’s so much you can do with your camera! Let’s learn how to make the most of it. \nDetails\nWho should come: Anyone who has a camera and wants to take beautiful pictures! \nTuition: $179/photographer\, or $89/photographer for Lenspiration members! Tuition does not include transportation\, meals\, housing\, or park fees. \nState Park Entrance Fee: There is a $7 In-State Entrance Fee for non-commercial vehicles with Indiana license plates. Admits drivers and passengers. \nMeeting Location: Program Room\, McCormick’s Creek Nature Center \nAge Requirement: All ages are welcome! Adults are required to submit a Liability Release Form. Attendees under the age of 18 are required to submit a Minor Liability Release Form and are encouraged to come with a guardian. There is no fee for guardians. Note: Field Day workshops are geared for high-school beginner photographers and are perfect for homeschool groups! \nAttendance: Maximum attendance will be 12 students. \nSchedule Overview: Let’s meet and greet at 9:30am so we can start digging into things promptly at 10:00am. We’ll go over basic photography terms and camera settings to make sure we’re all on the same page\, and then learn and experiment hands-on with how to intentionally create various amazing artistic effects with our cameras. In the late afternoon\, we’ll head out to a scenic area to put into practice everything we’ve learned and be done shooting after sunset. \nMeals: Bring your own lunch and dinner. Snacks will be provided! \nWeather: Average daily temperatures here in April are still chilly\, between 43 and 66 degrees\, and this can be a windy month. We will most likely be spending the majority of our time outdoors. In the event of wet weather\, it might also be a good idea to come prepared with a light rain jacket and an extra pair of socks. 🙂 Mist and fog surrounding periods of rain make for incredible photos and lots of clouds can make for amazing sunsets. So\, check the weather beforehand in case it’s predicted to be more rainy or cold and dress for the occasion. \nOther details: For generic details on things like prerequisites and items to bring\, see the details listed out at www.lenspiration.com/fielddays. \nPhotos of past workshops: Be inspired by photos taken during other Lenspiration workshops at www.lenspiration.photos/workshopphotos \nQuestions?
