Thanks so much for your thoughts, Jinny and James!

I tried cropping a little bit out, lightening the oranges, and upping the contrast (slightly). I do like this a little better!

Submitting this picture as per James’s suggestion. 🙂

I hadn’t realized it before he said, but the picture does portray a kind of hope and brighter future, which is probably the most impacting part of Philippians 3:13-14, to me.

Blessings!

A few weeks ago I got this shot of my brother and a random dog he befriended at a ranch we were visiting out in central Oklahoma. I was at the top of the hill snapping scenery pictures (hence the higher f/stop), and I saw him sitting there with the dog so adorably I just had to bend over and snap the shot! I got this shot, then readjusted to get…Read more

I shoot with a Canon Rebel T5i, the top was snapped with a 70-300mm lens in my front yard and the bottom with a 50mm prime inside a gift shop in Pawhuska, OK. I’m wondering if anybody has input on how I could have shot these better, or how to frame/compose flower shots better?

Thanks!

I shoot with a Canon Rebel T5i and besides the standard kit lens, I only have a 70-300mm zoom (f/4-5.6) and a 50mm prime (f/1.8). I know there are specifically recommended lenses and flash diffusers and such, but what do you think is basically necessary for entering the world of paid photography (probably portrait/family portrait mostly)?

I love this! The composition is really neat. I liked timtam’s idea of making the right side all dark to eliminate distractions! I would probably do that with a graduated filter.

It looks a little grainy, so if you were back there shooting it again, I might suggest raising the ISO a little to reduce grain. (But this also might be an effect of…Read more

Hi there, Jinny!

I am by no means an expert at car window photography, but I’ve done it my fair share, so I thought I’d chime in.

I would *highly* recommend rolling down your window whenever possible. This increases your [already low] chance of a good picture quite a bit. The glare and distortion of car windows (or any windows, imo) is so hard…Read more
