Ah! This is good to know! And I think you’re right, @buddingphotographer, about it being better that the pictures be embedded on the Lenspiration website.
So, then, how do you embed them? How did you get the link, “https://files.lenspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/14182906/20141003_ELF_3674.jpg?17ee50” in your explaination to @frazer-family?
August 3, 2016 at 9:19 am #18517James StaddonKeymasterAh! Good to know @dan-cope!
I do agree embedding in Lenspiration is ideal but the question is, @buddingphotographer, how do you get the embed link? ie, how did you get src=”https://files.lenspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/14182906/20141003_ELF_3674.jpg?17ee50″ earlier?
August 3, 2016 at 9:31 am #18518Frazer FamilyParticipantI believe you can only alter an existing post for a short time immediately after it has been posted. There should be a little “Edit” option on the top bar of your reply. Correct me if I’m wrong!
Yes, that’s how I managed to attach so many photos when you’re only supposed to be able to attach two. 🙂 I figured that one out accidentally. 🙂 But that option does seem only to be available right away.
Not on my computer. All I see is a little box saying “Does this work?”
That’s interesting. I can see the last photo just fine.
Yep, you can edit for a short time period, and then the Edit button goes away… But that doesn’t mean that you can’t edit your post any more. 🙂 I found out a little URL trick that lets me edit it any time that I want. Not long ago I edited a post that I made several months ago, and it worked! 🙂
So how did you do that? Or is it a secret hacking technique? 🙂 Later: Ha, Ha! My brother just showed me how! That’s neat!

I don’t know how buddingphotographer got it, but I got that link by going to the post that contains that photo, and hovering my mouse over it. Some writing appeared down in the bottom left corner of the screen. (There is probably some technical name for that writing…) I memorised that and typed it into the “img” tag. I’d be interested in hearing if there is some other way. That kind of jargon doesn’t stick in my brain very well! (Though after doing the first one, I just copied and pasted, and simply altered the few digits that differed from picture to picture.)
August 3, 2016 at 12:15 pm #18520Frazer FamilyParticipantI just talked with my computer-savvy brother, who suggests that the reason @buddingphotographer and @Dan-Cope can’t see the last photo posted by @jamesstaddon could be because of a browser plugin. He suggested trying to open this thread in incognito. Also try visiting the image directly: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/d127dQEk7Hh2Gx_VZ1T-pbOQjGnsr4A-jA7UPlTQ9OmLtNe8vQ42-WM37Ra5bD0TZLkjc5k0_tI=w1920-h1080-rw-no
Can anyone see this photo?
Or this one?
Or this?
Also, what browser are you all using?

I upload the photos using the regular method (as attachments). Then I go back and edit the post to add in the links once they’re uploaded. To get more than 2 photos, I have to edit the post and upload 2 more, and so on… 🙂
Once a photo is uploaded, I can open it, right-click on it, and select “Copy Image Link” and paste it to embed it into the post.

Are you using Google Chrome?

That link does not work for me, it tries to download a
.webp
file when I click on it. The first 2 images work, the last one does not. I’m running Firefox on Windows. If I open this page with Google Chrome, however, the 3rd photo shows up, and when I click on the link above, I see the picture.August 4, 2016 at 8:12 am #18528Ezra MorleyModerator@Jamesstaddon, the feature that I would like is a way to upload photos to Lenspiration without having to hit “Submit” for the post I’m writing. That way I could get the link to embed the photo before submitting the post. Ideally, I would also be able to select different image dimensions for embedding properly resized thumbnails in the post.
August 4, 2016 at 9:18 am #18529James StaddonKeymasterI am using Google Chrome.
@frazer-family, I can see all three pictures you uploaded.Everyone, I’ll look into lifting the “upload only 2 pictures” limit and see if there’s a better way to upload pictures to your posts! I think it would be best if photos could be embedded on the site instead of linking to other sites.

That’s what Jonathan thought.
It seems you do need the .jpg file, as @buddingphotographer said, to see the photo in Firefox – which is possible from a public post on Google+, apparently. (That’s what we did to get the first two photos.)
Once a photo is uploaded, I can open it, right-click on it, and select “Copy Image Link” and paste it to embed it into the post.
That would be a lot simpler than memorising it! 🙂

Neat!

1. Light. The first picture looks a bit gray and dull, but probably that could be taken care of in post-processing. The second one has a much nicer lightning.
2. Environnement. Although the camera did a good job at focusing on the chicken and minimize the fence on your first picture, chicken fence can still be seen faintly.
In the second picture, the chicken on the right seems to have a bit of motion blur or slightly out of focus. It would have been neat to have both chicken tack-sharp.
