There’s not much to be said about this shot. Pictures of flowers are very common, but it’s not common to find roses without any blemish whatsoever.
Your composition reminded me a lot of what I was reading today in Visual Flow, by Ian Plant. Talking about ways to master center compositions, he says “A curve, however, by its very nature creates energy, as its zigzagging shape gets the eye moving left and right, away from the center. The result is a centered subject that is also dynamic.” Spirals , like the ones in this rose picture, produce the same effect.
