Hi! This is James with Lenspiration, and today I’m going to show you how to post a picture or question on the Lenspiration Forums.
In order to interact on the forums, you must be logged into your account. If you are not logged in, the forums will be view only. (Click here to set up a FREE account with Lenspiration.)
To see whether or not you are logged in, go to www.lenspiration.com and look at the top right corner of the screen. If you see “Login” than it means you are not logged in.
So, to log in, click “Login” and enter your Username and password. To make it easier to log in in the future, check “Remember Me”. Your username is usually your email address and if you can’t remember your password, you can follow the directions provided after clicking “Lost your password?”
Once you are logged in to your account, you will notice the options in the top right of the screen have changed. This is the best way to know whether or not you are logged in.
Now, navigate to the Forums using the Training menu. If you are a FREE member, you will only have access to the Free Forums. If you are a PRO member, you will have access to both the Free and the PRO Forums. Submitting a picture or question works the same way regardless of what forum you are in. In this example, I will be submitting a photo under Photo Critique.
If you have not submitted a question or photo on the forums before, it would be a good idea to read the yellow, “Lenspiration Forums guidelines (PLEASE READ FIRST)” topic before continuing on. If you have not submitted a photo for photo critique before, it would be a good idea to read the yellow, “Photo Critique Forum guidelines” topic as well. Beneath the yellow introductory topics, you will see a list of past topics, sorted based on recent activity.
To submit your own topic (in this case, a photo for critique), scroll to the bottom of the page to “Create New Topic in Photo Critique”. Enter a descriptive Topic Title and a description asking your question or listing what feedback you’re looking for in a photo critique. You can choose to be notified of follow-up replies via email if you so desire. To attach a picture, click “Choose File”. Attach multiple files by clicking “Add another file”. The amount of files, as well as the size of the files, you are allowed to attach is limited. This information is outlined in the yellow forum guidelines topic at the beginning of the page. When you are ready to submit, click “Submit”.
When your topic has been submitted, you have a limited amount of time to Edit that topic, which you can do by clicking “Edit”. If you want to be notified of any activity associated with this topic, click “Subscribe” and you will receive notifications by email.
You also have the option to subscribe to all activity associated with an entire forum. Just go back to the main forum page, and click “Subscribe” in the top right corner. You will receive notifications by email when new topics and replies are added from anywhere on that forum. In this example, I would be subscribed to the Photo Critique Forum and would thus receive any new topics or replies that were submitted on this forum. It is recommend that you Subscribe to all Lenspiration Forums that your account allows you to access.
