Hey there!
Hopefully this doesn’t get confusing! I have two different questions, but they are sort of related, so I just thought I would include them all in one post.
I am considering getting Lightroom, as I want to make my photos look more professional, as well as have a good way to organize all my photos. I am likely going to pay for Lightroom only, but are there any benefits to having Photoshop as well?
My laptop that I am planning on downloading Lightroom on is a 2020 MacBook Air, and so, it doesn’t have a regular USB port or an SD card port to import pictures. I tried finding the app Canon Connect to use to import pictures, but it doesn’t look like I can get it on my computer. So, how would I get my pictures onto my laptop?
Hopefully that is clear and not too complicated! 😅

Personally, I almost never use Photoshop for photo editing. Lightroom is very powerful, and has become more and more so through the years.
Pretty much the only time I’d use PS for editing would be for advanced edits like face swaps or dramatic removals from backgrounds, but I almost never need to do that since I work to avoid that when shooting.
I don’t have much experience with Macs, so can’t answer there from personal experience – I’m sure others on here can chime in. Have you looked into any sort of SD card adapters you could plug in, though?
