EXPLORE Tallulah Gorge
Let’s do some exploring!
Join me for a day (or half a day) exploring and photographing this epic location in pursuit of calendar-worthy photos! With the specific moments of sunrise and sunset as our only hard deadlines, and with capturing beauty as our main objective, we will let the particulars of the location and the elements of nature dictate our schedule.
Here are some things we will likely be encountering:
- What it’s like to do professional landscape photography
- Real-life location scouting
- Maximizing cloud types, weather patterns, natural lighting situations, ect.
- Tracking sun or moon positioning for intentional placement in a photograph
- Previsualizing scenes
- In-the-field composition coaching
- Getting things right in-camera for HDR or panoramic composites
- Experimenting with James’ photography gear
- Pick James’ brain on any photography topic
- Fellowship with Christian photographers in the beauty of God’s creation
Details
Who should come: Anyone who has a camera and wants to take beautiful pictures!
Tuition: $100/photographer for the full day (sunrise and sunset), or $50/photographer for a half day (6 hours surrounding just sunrise or just sunset). Lenspiration members receive 50% off automatically at checkout.
Meetup Location: After registering, James will personally reach out to you with the exact location of where to meet. Because this particular State Park does not allow folks to enter the park until 8:00am (after sunrise), so we’ll meet up at a scenic spot just outside the park for sunrise.
Schedule: Meet 1 hour before sunrise. We’ll photograph blue hour, sunrise, and morning golden hour before having breakfast and devotions. During the mid-day hours we’ll explore around, download photos to our computers (if we have time), eat lunch and scout out where we’ll stake out for pictures at sunset. After dinner, we’ll photograph evening golden hour, sunset, and dusk. The event is typically over about 1 hour after sunset.
Meals: You are responsible for bringing your own breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in between.
Lodging: Each attendee is responsible for their own lodging. Meetup location will be outside the park, so it will not make a difference if you are lodging inside or outside of the park.
Weather: Expect it to be hot and humid; bring plenty of water to drink! Check the weather beforehand in case it’s predicted to be rainy, and plan accordingly.
Prerequisites: For general details on things like prerequisites and what to to bring, see the details listed out at www.lenspiration.com/meetup.
More Photos: Be inspired by photos taken during other Lenspiration workshops at www.lenspiration.photos/workshopphotos
