I am SO excited about this assignment! I simply can’t wait to see and hear about all the neat places near you that you have found to take beautiful photos!
I explored three new locations for this assignment, and here are my favorite photos from those locations. The first spot just happened to be right on the way while driving across the mountains from Virginia. The second spot was a local city park (I wanted a place to take our family portrait anyway!). And the third spot was a place an hour away I had heard about years ago but had never taken the time to visit. This assignment was a good excuse to get up early to go there for a beautiful sunrise.
I hope you’ll be able to run into some picturesque locations to share from your travels this summer too!

For those interested in submitting multiple locations, I put together an Excel spreadsheet with one tab per location so you can organize the information off-line and have it all prepped and ready to go when you are ready to submit.
IMPORTANT: Using the spreadsheet will not submit your entry for the assignment – it is an external tool that allows you to prepare and refine your entry BEFORE submitting it through the Lenspiration page.

When you open it, if the PROTECTED VIEW message appears, click the Enable Editing button.
(By default, any Office document you download from the internet is set to Protected View mode, to assure it can’t make changes to your system without your knowledge.)Hover over the red triangle on the top row to read the usage notes.

Here are some photos I took at a daffodil field I visited this spring. I hadn’t yet submitted them for the Scouting Guide, so it was good to do that. It’s a super seasonal location, but it’s worth being on the map for when it is open!
I’m really looking forward to seeing all the places everyone submits!

I couldn’t figure out how to do a newline within a merged field, so I added a bank field to the end that can be copied anywhere you need an extra line, and I also made sure that all the pertinent fields were set to WRAP, Align Top & Left.Hello! Would you like us to submit field notes and location etc. with our photos here on the forum, or simply photos for now and notes later if the location is chosen for the scouting guide?

Hi @laura-aome, like it says in the details (https://www.lenspiration.com/current-assignment/), you can actually submit the photos and field notes at the same time using the provided form! Here’s the direct link to the form: https://www.lenspiration.com/submit-a-location/ After submitting both the photos and field notes there, you can also share them for discussion here if you’d like.
@dotremain, I would suggest adding a number at the beginning of the filename of the photos that are submitted to provide the chronological order in which you would like them to show up.
Great suggestion, @jamesstaddon! Submitted a spot today that I enjoy as a location for portraiture! Using your idea, I included numbers and names of the various locations within the park that I gravitate towards, for them to be grouped together by location within the park.

I submitted these pictures of Boone Hall Plantations and Gardens located in South Carolina. It was a really good place to go on a family trip. I liked the pictures you submitted @anita! I was wondering what location you were shooting at?
