Instructions on how to downsize a photo are available on the Lenspirationn site for Windows and Photoshop. Can you provide instructions pertaining to Apple’s “Photos” app?

I don’t have much experience with Apple computers, but you can take a look here:

I’m not sure that Photos has a downsize option. I always use Preview or GIMP for downsizing mine. @buddingphotographer ‘s link looks like what I do with preview. 🙂June 20, 2017 at 4:39 pm #23934Ezra MorleyModeratorTaken from here: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/resize-images-iphoto/ (Don’t visit the site unless you have to, it’s not “family friendly” without an adblocker*.)
- Launch Photos and select your image, or multiple images.
- Head to File > Export 1 Photo (or however many you are resizing).
- Under Size you can choose Full Size, Large, Medium or Small presets, and Custom allows you to set your own size (in pixels).
- Choose Custom to specify a maximum Width or Height, or choose Dimension to limit both width and height to the number you provide.
- Hit Export and choose where you want to save the image.
You can choose the filetype, compression quality, whether to omit embedded location information, and choose a color profile if you want to.
Note: You also have the option to Export Unmodified Original, which is what you should choose if you’re printing your images or plan on editing them in an external editor like Photoshop or Pixelmator.
*Another option that Firefox has nowadays, which I really like is “Reader View”. Basically it strips away all formatting from the website, and gives you just the “text” of the article. Very handy for getting rid of obscene ads and sidebar content quickly.

June 21, 2017 at 5:15 pm #23983James StaddonKeymasterI’m assuming you’ve been able to figure out how to get the pictures downsized and uploaded now, @vince? I saw your pictures uploaded at https://www.lenspiration.com/forums/topic/pitcher-on-country-lane/
June 27, 2017 at 8:34 pm #24218Lewis FamilyParticipantEzra, I played around with the Apple Photos export capability and found it quite capable for selecting format, size and metadata, etc. Thank you.
