ParticipantInteresting shot, @farmboy! It compels one to want to explore that barn.
Several things: your subject looks a good bit out of focus to me. Using a larger aperture and making sure it was tack sharp would have helped. f/16, or maybe f/13. While the larger aperture would have slowed the shutter significantly, a tripod can help combat that. Also, black and white is great for shots that are absolutely tack sharp, but a lack of focus can ruin the effect.
Can you post the colored version? I would love to see it.

KeymasterPerhaps get down a little lower to see some grass slightly out of focus in the very near foreground…
The wispy clouds in this shot are going in an awesome direction. Wonder if you could pull that out more in processing. Perhaps in color you could see contrast between white and blue?
Glad that there are no obvious telephone wires in the picture. Liked also that each main element in the shot is included completely in the frame and not cropped off in any way, especially the trees on the right and the piece of equipment protruding out on the left. Feels sorta like the framing was intentional and all the pieces in the puzzle are present and in place.

ParticipantAh, that’s what I am talking about! I like the colored version a lot better. First of all, the color compensates for the lack of tack-sharp focus. Nice!
Also, the moon in the upper left-hand corner is a nice touch – something that was lost in the b&w version.

ParticipantMy bad for the moon. I have counseled Farmboy to remove it while he was editing the picture in B&W. I thought it was more distracting than interesting.

ParticipantWe eat at the same table, do our scoolwork beside each other, sleep in the same room, and even do photography together… Yes, you guess it, we are brothers:)

ParticipantMakes sense :). I thought so, since I met @MrQuebec. I met you too, but didn’t know your handle. Now I have a face to put with the name.

KeymasterIt’s fun to have a sibling who also enjoys photography to shoot with. I have a brother who loves taking pictures of details in creation, like honey bees and the interesting shapes of old trees, things that I do not normally see as I have my eye out for the expansive landscape. We don’t shoot together for the fun of it, just when we’re on vacation hiking together.

ParticipantI would have to agree with @tjons that the colored picture is better. However I also agree with @Mr.Quebec that the moon is more distracting than interesting. Is their a way we could see it in color but without the moon?

I agree 100%! I really like these times where my brother and I go take pictures. It is really helpful to see another perspective of the same subject.
Sarah.Brown’s quote :However I also agree with @Mr.Quebec that the moon is more distracting than interesting.
I have counseled Farmboy to remove the moon in his B&W picture because the moon appeared only to be a white spot (because of the lack of texture on its surface). I still have counseled to remove it in his color version because the moon was located on a featureless spot and was therefore distracting me form the subject in the middle.
