ParticipantHi @warrior-princess!!
Here is an idea from me…
It’s a personal opinion of course, but I think pictures 1,2,4, and 7 would be prettier if the greens were made more colourful in your editing program. I do that a lot with my photos…for some reason, some of my outdoors photos look quite dull and colourless before I edit them! I’ve attached a couple of my edits of yours (hope you don’t mind!). I also warmed the photos up just a little bit and brightened up the second one:)

P.S. I may not be able to give any follow-up replies…I think my membership runs out tomorrow, and we’re not signing up straight away:)

Participant@laura-aome Thank you for your suggestions!
I love the first photo you edited. Exactly what did you do to it? I would like to try the settings you tweaked. The second is a bit too warm for my style on that photo, but I will saturate the greens a bit more. I think that would be pretty, like you said.
And, actually, you don’t need to have your membership active to comment on the forums! They are always free to read and reply on. 🙂

ParticipantWow! I’m still here!
Yes…so sorry about the saturation on that second photo, @warrior-princess. I thought about that once I’d submitted it! Apologies!
My editor is a whole lot more simplistic than yours (I just use the default Photos app on Windows 10 for editing!), so you will be capable of doing far more than I can do on mine:) For the first photo, I simply wound up the ‘colour’ slider to probably three quarters of the way up (my slider starts at half way, so I pulled it up another quarter), and I may have pulled up the ‘light’ slider a little (it may or may not be necessary), and a little on the warmth.
I didn’t mention it before, but the bokeh in those two photos is very nice!

Firstly, I have to say that I love your last image (with the dog catching the ball). You captured the movement beautifully, while keeping the dog sharp. Great job!
I like the way @laura-aome edited the pictures; it makes the photos look sunny and bright.
For the second photo, I think that the face is slightly out of focus…I believe that the dog moved, not you. Animals are super hard to keep in focus, because they are hardly ever completely still! I would suggest using a higher shutter speed, to get sharper photos.
For the second to last one (the dog lying down), I personally would have crouched down and taken the photo at eye level with your dog. I find that it helps the photo look more meaningful, since you are looking your dog in the eye, instead of down at him.
Last thing: I really like the photos where the dogs are doing something (running, panting, catching the ball). You are really good at capturing action!

Keymaster@warrior-princess, are you using Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, or both to edit your photos? And will you be on the webinar next Tuesday, where I could critique your photos there?

Participant@jamesstaddon I am using Lightroom. And yes! I will be there!
