Benjamin HolmesModeratorA hearty hello to the Lenspiration Community! For Sharpening Character’s VersePics Bible Memory tool of the week, we are in need of an image to backdrop Matthew 16:24-25:
“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.”
Requester: Sharpening Character
Purpose: VersePics Bible Memory Tool (See Sharpeningcharacter.com/versepics for more information and to see examples of past VersePics)
Images Requested: Crosses (occurring in nature or man-made), ideas relating to finding or losing something, the idea of “following after.” This could be an image of a path, trail, or something more “civilized” such as a paved path or side walk. Above all, imagine this verse in the center of your image, and keep the focus upon both having the photo as a background, and as a visual idea of the verse! … All that to say, good luck, and have fun being creative!
Remuneration: As we are a small organization of 4 guys that is self-funded, we cannot offer any payment at this time. Any submissions received would be regarded as a gift towards advancing the Kingdom of God, and helping others to memorize and meditate on His Word.
Terms: You are granting Sharpening Character (and our partner ministry Courageous Men of the Word) the right to use your image for VersePics (be it this verse, or another at a later date. If the latter, we will verify with you before use.) You also grant us the ability to fully edit, modify, or alter your image however we see fit. You continue to retain full rights to your submissions.
Priority: High
Deadline: 11:59 AM Eastern, Friday the 24th, February 2017
Updated Submission Notes:
- Please add JPEGs of your images as attachments to your Replies, and please do not either use links to your submission, or embed your submission in the reply. You can only submit a reply that has less than 20 MB of attachments, so if needed, you may submit photos in multiple replies.
If you have a RAW image, please send it to us by using this link: https://www.dropbox.com/request/w5rf4abOpaPBxE31JuOX. This will take you to a Dropbox file uploader that will send your submission directly to us. You do not need a Dropbox account to use the file uploader, and your images will not be visible or accessible to anyone else.
Please submit images that EXCEED 2666px wide by 2000px tall. If you submit an image below these limits, LET US KNOW IN THE REPLY so we can know beforehand. Please submit only photos with no watermarks, text, or destructive editing. We will credit the winning photographer by your forum name with the Lenspiration Watermark in the final VersePic.Contact: For any questions, please email me at: [email protected]

Benjamin HolmesModeratorJust one other very important note: We have updated the way you submit your photos to us. If you shoot your photos in RAW, PLEASE SEND US THOSE FILES!!!! You can find a Dropbox File Request link, or DFR, in the submission notes on the Shoot to Serve Request. This will take you to a file uploader where you can send your photos directly to me. There is no limit to how large the files can be, but I only have 2 GB of Dropbox space, so keep them within reason! Please do not submit more than three shots of the same scene in a RAW format, as I only have 2GB of space in my Dropbox account for these RAW files! No one else can see your submissions, and there are no Ads on the uploader page, so there are no privacy or immodesty issues.
IF YOU SUBMIT A RAW FILE TO US please also submit a JPEG as an attachment to a reply—just in case of emergencies—and to allow others to see your submission.
As I have the capability to edit RAW files on my iPad, I would greatly appreciate it if you could start using this method of “Dual-Submission”. Thank you!
Just as another quick note, we’ve just completely redesigned the VersePics section of our website, so check it out and either email me or just post your feedback! As our Web Developer, I’d be extremely interested to hear what you think about it, and how it could be even better!

James StaddonKeymasterThanks for spelling out the new submission details so clearly!
The photo I’m submitting today needed quite an bit of photoshop work to remove people walking around the cross, but I’ll submit the DNG anyway so you can do the edits yourself if you want. I did mine in a hurry, if you couldn’t guess. 🙂
