Our family had the privilege of touring Vicksburg National Military Park this month as we made our way to Texas for a homeschool convention. What a treat to climb the slopes with my camera – even though it was a warm day! 🙂
The canons and military history reminded me of the importance of preparing our minds with memorized Scripture for spiritual battle (1 Peter 1:13). Reviewing memory verses first thing in the morning is akin to piling cannonballs beside my mental canons as I prepare to ‘hold the fort’ yet another day against the flesh for His glory. I’d like to do a short blog post on the concept and am looking to use at least one of the canon pictures I captured to help illustrate the concept!
I would appreciate input as to how I could improve the shot next time, editing tips, and if it would support the theme I’m seeking to communicate!
Here are the specs:
ISO: 100
Aperture: f/4.0
Shutter: 1/800
Focal Length: 28mm
Editing: Exposure (-0.15), Contrast (+6), Clarity (+9), Vignette (-17)Extra Picture: I like this one, but what bothers me is that I can’t see the end of the canon (trying to avoid a large white awning down the hill made for limited angles). The shot could almost give the sense of ‘history’ and ‘fought the fight’ rather than being ‘prepared’. Is my instinct correct or is that one actually better than the one I chose? 🙂
