Eliana Franzenburg replied to the topic Quality Printing Company in the forum Photography Q&A 7 months ago
I’ve used This Website several times and are always impressed by the quality. Even up close they have extremely high print quality (not to mention amazing prices 🙂 I’ve gotten a couple of 30 x 40 prints and a few 24 x 16’s.
I can not recommend them enough.

Eliana Franzenburg replied to the topic What size photo should I deliver to my clients? in the forum Photography Q&A 8 months ago
I’ve used a thumbdrive before and it works very nicely! The only downside is you have physically hand it to them (or send it in the mail) and that’s only practical if you live close.
Since then I’ve started using Dropbox and that is my favorite way to deliver photos to clients. You just upload your photos to a folder then send a link to your…[Read more]

I’m planning on entering as well and this will be the last year I could enter 🙂
I’m also having trouble with the theme of “ornate”. One idea I had was a photo of an eye (you can’t get much more ornate in design than an eye in my opinion) or maybe some type of glass work but don’t know how I would go about either of those… -

@ernestf-lloyd Thanks! I will check these out!
It would help me out if I knew what your budget range is, and what features you are wanting. 😉 🙂
I don’t really want to spend more the $30 considering all the ones I’ve gotten before have broken. Wireless is a must (so I can be in my photos), and I would like it to be able to shoot in bulb mode.…[Read more]

Yeah @jamesstaddon I have another angle for the water drops but all I have for the flowers are where they fill the whole frame. I’ll upload them just so they can see the options.

Here are my submissions!
I saw the “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”
so why not try to portray the words of the lord quite literally with the bible! I added the cross to get the silver part of the verse as well. (I may or may not have gotten some inspiration from @jamesstaddon 😉 -

So these are what I was able to get. It’s a baby grand and the top didn’t open so I didn’t have that option. There was very little room to be able to fit all of the piano in frame but I did the best I could. The church had Christmas decorations up so I had to do a lot of editing to remove those.
It was very fun, and also an exercise in moving…[Read more]

Is black & white ok? Would having music on the piano work? Or would they possibly want a person in the photo? (learning how to play piano?)

Would we need a model consent form? Is there a preferred number and age of the kids?

I have tried to photograph butterflies before but they never turned out that well as butterflies don’t exactly sit around and wait for you to take their photo. I still keep trying every time I see one although I’ve never gotten a good photo till one day.
I was photographing some lavender that my Grandma grows, there were some bees and but…[Read more]

Would a butterfly work? Do we submit the story along with the photo or do we have to do something else?

Eliana Franzenburg replied to the topic Shooting RAW… ugh… in the forum Photography Q&A 1 year, 7 months ago
I’ve started shooting in RAW recently just as it seems to produce more detailed/sharper photos. I have a Mac so I mainly use the “Photos” app (which works extremely well for what I do) and Photoshop Elements for any in depth editing. The only problem I have when editing is that my laptop is quite old so it can be slow processing the larger files.…[Read more]

Eliana Franzenburg replied to the topic How to blur the backround in a family picture in the forum Photography Q&A 1 year, 7 months ago
To expand on what @loganlamar said, the distance is very important to get the background blur you want. I don’t have as much experience with groups but with individual portraits if you have an aperture of f/8 you need to be at least 6 feet away from your background to get it blurred.
When I do have groups I’ll usually start with about f/8 then…[Read more]
