ParticipantThese two photos taken by Ken are of a Rock with a manger scene painted for him by a former co-worker and a red cross we added on top. Photo 0615 was not changed and photo 0613 was updated with only a small adjustment to level the horizon. Photos taken on February 18, 2025.
It was fun to take these pictures and get the desired results with a blurry background. We continue to learn a lot. Thanks James!

ParticipantThanks James! Will have to work on leveling the horizon in future photos. We will also keep in mind that it may be not be good to have to much of the picture taken up by a clear blue sky. It will take more experience to get the hang of these things including a better depth of focus on landscape photos by adjusting the aperture to a higher f-stop. We are well on the way though and really enjoying your course. I have used my phone and GoPro for pictures on trail and have left the old DSLR (Nikon D3200) behind for to long. It is exciting to finally learn how to use it.

ParticipantThanks Lydia! The wonderful thing about your reply is that we understand what you are saying. A few weeks back we would not have understood any of this. Yay, we are learning. Praise the Lord!

ParticipantHi James,
Thanks! Yes the photos are in CT and were taken on January 14th and 15th so are winter photos. The beach photos at Silver Sands may not show it. Most of the photos were edited using the editor in Windows Photo. Two of the photos from Racebrook Track were not edited. Photo 444 and 452 were not edited. Each photo for this section has a suffix of update (if it was edited) and reduce for adjusting the size for review here. So 444 and 452 only have suffix reduce as they were not edited. Hope that makes sense. We are enjoying the course and have learned a lot already.

ParticipantSue and I (Ken) did our initial photo shoot at Silver Sands State Park in CT. We are new at this and went on a very cloudy and grey day so the photos did not come out so well. We then did a 2nd shoot on some trails at Racebrook Track in Orange CT. It was sunny and we had a tripod this time so a little better. We then went back to Silver Sands State Park on a sunny day with a tripod and did better than the first time. This is our first time submitting pictures so hopefully we are doing it right. We sent the full resolution photos and are attempting the reduced size photos here.
