There is no particular color scheme. Fall is my favorite time of year, but other seasons and colors are not precluded. Space at the top might be nice, but the truth is that if I need more space I can shrink the photo and put a complementary background color at the top if need be. I think more mountains than person would be my flavor. I want to concentrate on the path more than the person.
