It had been a long week in downtown Sacramento, CA where I had been staying with my brother and his family working on a recording project during the day and preaching for revival services in the evenings. But now it was Monday morning and time for some sightseeing! The day started early as we headed to San Fransisco, hoping to get ahead of some of the traffic! It was not the bright sunny day we had hoped for but we were happy that it was not raining. After visiting some of the well known areas of San Fransisco, we headed toward the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific Ocean. I had imaginations of a perfect sunset over the ocean as the thick blanket of clouds parted to allow the sinking sun to paint them with vivid colors before slipping below the horizon. However, such visual grandeur developed only in my imagination and never became a reality on that evening. But even so, I did what I could to photograph the ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge. This particular composition of the bridge appealed to me for several reasons and in spite of the dull gray lighting I thought that maybe I could salvage it with some creative editing. So I went to work in both Lightroom and Photoshop. Here is the original as well as my “salvaged” version. Let me know what you think! Did I go too far in trying to inject some color into a gray day? Does it look unnatural?
