Hey guys, I have been buying and selling camera gear over Ebay for the past month and have come across some great prime lenses.
The reason that I like Prime lenses is basically because you can get really wide apertures with them, and they can tend to be slightly more sharp.Anyhow, I am wondering if anyone on here has experience shooting with just primes? Would it be worth the investment to get a lineup of prime lenses?
Just throwing my idea out there to see what you all think! Right now I am enjoying using a 50mm 1.8, 50mm 1.4, and a 35mm 1.8.
Any thoughts on the disadvantages of using prime vs. zoom lenses?

I’m not decided on that yet, but I really am liking f/1.4…
I think I will get rid of the f/1.8 since I like the 50mm 1.4 lens better for video.I’d be curious to know how often you find yourself switching lenses
Yeah, that is the downside to primes. But on a product photography shoot I have been using the 50mm,-which works until you get something too tall or wide… and if you have only a small space to photograph them in. 🙂 Then I have switched to the 35mm which is nicer in some respects since it’s focus distance is much closer than the 50mm.
I don’t have any experience with the more expensive primes yet, like the 300mm, 105mm, or 20mm.
